April 2026 was a month to remember at WINNING English Academy — one of Cebu’s premier international English language schools. Across both our City Campus and Ocean Campus, the month was filled with the excitement of welcoming new students, celebrating graduating learners, and offering a full calendar of enriching activities that go far beyond the classroom.
This April, WINNING warmly welcomed a new wave of international students eager to begin their English immersion journey. Arriving from Taiwan, Japan, China, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines, our new learners stepped onto campus ready to grow — both linguistically and personally. WINNING staff greeted them at the airport with branded signs and smiles, beginning the experience of community from the very first moment.
At City Campus, the student body reflected a rich diversity: Taiwan (37.2%), Japan (29.7%), China (21.4%), and learners from Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines. Ocean Campus welcomed students from Taiwan (28.3%), China (26.1%), Japan (26.1%), Vietnam (15.2%), and Thailand. This multicultural mix is at the heart of what makes WINNING unique — English becomes the shared language that connects the world.
April brought emotional and joyful graduation ceremonies at both campuses. Students who dedicated weeks and months to improving their English skills crossed the stage with certificates in hand, surrounded by teachers, friends, and a community that truly felt like a second home.
Principal Malcolm Liang captured the spirit of the occasion perfectly: “WINNING is your Second-Home, where lifelong connections and endless opportunities begin. As you graduate, remember — You’ll always be part of the WINNING Family!”
Graduation was not just an ending — it was a celebration of transformation. Students who arrived nervous and uncertain left confident, fluent, and equipped for their next global chapter.
Across both campuses, ESL (English as a Second Language) remained the most popular course, representing approximately 80.9% of City Campus enrolments and 82.6% at Ocean Campus. IELTS preparation courses also drew strong interest (10.6% at City; 4.3% at Ocean), alongside Business English, Family Programs, TOEIC, and Special Courses.
The age range of students was equally diverse, with the Gender & Age charts showing strong participation from young adults aged 20–29 — an age group highly motivated to develop English skills for career and academic advancement. The school also welcomed family learners, reflecting WINNING’s commitment to providing programs for all ages.
City Campus hosted an exceptional lineup of April activities: a lively Welcome Party, Fitness Class, Sports Night, Easter Day celebration, Yoga Class, Zumba Class, a creative Fuzzy Wires Craft Workshop, and a comprehensive BLS & SFA (Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid) Training. The month culminated in a festive Graduation Party that brought the entire community together.
Ocean Campus equally shone with its own vibrant programme: Welcome Party, Singing Class, Board Game Night, Easter Day, Zumba Class, Swimming Class, Buskers Night featuring live music, and an exciting On the Spot Interactive Night. The Ocean Campus Graduation Party was a touching finale to another fantastic month.
WINNING’s weekend activities in April gave students the opportunity to experience the culture and history of Cebu beyond the school gates. Students visited the iconic Mactan Shrine, learning about Philippine history while practising conversational English in a real-world setting. A heartwarming Charity Program also saw WINNING students giving back to the local community — an activity that builds empathy, teamwork, and meaningful language practice simultaneously.
Candy, from Taiwan (ESL4, City Campus, 3 months): “My speaking and confidence improved a lot. I came to Cebu to improve my English and prepare for a career change.
