July has been another wonderful month at WINNING English Academy in Cebu. From intensive one-on-one English classes to summer camp adventures, our students worked hard, made lifelong friends, and created memories that will stay with them long after they leave. In this monthly report, we share the highlights from across our City, Ocean, and Lyf campuses.
This month, WINNING was delighted to welcome new students arriving at Cebu airport, greeted by our friendly staff holding the WINNING banner. As our photos show, learners of all ages travelled from across Asia to begin their English journey with us. Whether they came as individuals, families, or junior camp groups, each new student was warmly received into what we like to call our second home.
July was also a season of proud farewells. Graduation ceremonies were held across our City, Ocean, and Lyf campuses, with students receiving their certificates surrounded by classmates and teachers.
As Malcolm Liang, Principal of WINNING English Academy, reminded our graduates: “WINNING is your second home, where lifelong connections and endless opportunities begin. As you graduate, remember… you’ll always be part of the WINNING family!”
One of the month’s proudest moments came from Michelle, a student from Taiwan, who raised her IELTS score from 4.5 to 6.5 in just eight weeks. Her dedication is a reminder of what focused study and consistent coaching can achieve.
Building on results like Michelle’s, we were excited to launch our new IELTS Guarantee Course. Designed for students who want a clear, structured path toward their target band score, this course reflects our commitment to measurable progress and personalised support.
July also marked the successful kickoff of our Summer Camp activities. Younger learners enjoyed a packed schedule of English lessons combined with fun, hands-on experiences, giving them a chance to practise the language naturally while making new friends.
Our July data offers a snapshot of the vibrant, international community here at WINNING.
The City campus welcomed a diverse mix of nationalities, with students from Taiwan, Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, South Korea, and the Philippines. ESL remained the most popular programme, followed by camp, IELTS, TOEIC, and family courses. The age range was wide, showing just how many different learners choose Cebu for their studies.
Ocean welcomed students primarily from Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, China, and the Philippines. ESL made up the majority of enrolments, with camp students adding energy to the campus. Many younger learners in the junior age groups made Ocean a lively place this month.
Lyf was very much a camp-focused campus in July, with camp students making up the vast majority of enrolments alongside a small IELTS group. Students came mostly from Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Japan, with a strong presence of younger learners enjoying the summer programme.
At WINNING, learning English is only part of the experience. Our non-Spartan approach gives students the freedom to enjoy campus life and explore the Philippines.
At the City campus, students took part in a welcome party, fitness class, sports night, Zumba class, table tennis, yoga class, and a graduation party. Over at the Ocean campus, activities included a welcome party, Zumba class, swimming class, halo-halo making, mango float making, bingo night, and a graduation party, giving learners a delicious taste of Filipino culture.
Beyond campus, students also headed out on weekend adventures, including the unforgettable experience of swimming with whale sharks in Oslob. These moments help students relax, bond, and put their English into practice in real-world settings.
The excitement continues into August, with new weekend tours and campus activities already being planned. It promises to be another month full of progress and fun.
