YURIE:
Hello. I’m YURIE from Japan. I took the IELTS Intensive course for 3 months at Winning English Academy.

YURIE:
Because I wanted to improve my IELTS skills.
Also, the convenient location of the school was one of the reasons.

How did your English skills change after studying at Winning?
YURIE:
When I first arrived, I was not confident in speaking English.
But after 3 months, I gained confidence in speaking English with teachers and friends.
Staff:
What do you think about the teachers and classes?
YURIE:
One of my favorite classes was the listening class.
Thanks to the many assignments given by the teacher, my listening skills improved significantly.

Did your IELTS score improve while studying in Cebu?
YURIE:
Yes, it did.
In my case, my initial level test was IELTS 4.0, but after 3 months, I was able to raise my score to 6.0 on the graduation test.
With many one-on-one classes, the teachers clearly pointed out my weaknesses, and I felt that my listening and speaking skills improved significantly.
Also, by taking mock tests every week, I was able to continue studying while feeling my own growth.
Therefore, I think studying in Cebu is a very good environment for those aiming to improve their IELTS scores.

How was life outside of classes?
YURIE:
I enjoyed the weekend activities.
On Saturdays, I went to Bohol Island with school friends and experienced activities like ATV. It was very memorable.
I also participated in the school’s Zumba (dance) class.
At first, I couldn’t dance well, but with the teacher’s guidance, I was able to participate enjoyably.

Did you participate every week?
YURIE:
Yes, I participated almost every week.
Staff:
Did you make any international friends?
YURIE:
Yes, I made a friend named Shaima.
We went to cafes together and studied together once a week.
I also participated in Sports Night.
It was fun playing volleyball with students from various countries like Taiwan and Arab countries.
Staff:
What is your most memorable experience at Winning?
YURIE:
That’s a good question (laughs)
The IELTS mock tests I took every week.
I was very happy when I got a high score.
Studying for IELTS was not only fun but also challenging,
I feel I was able to overcome my weaknesses.

Lastly, would you recommend Winning English Academy to other students?
YURIE:
Yes, I would recommend it.
